Salom launches the durable Motorola TP10K ECO Turbopower Powerbank

It’s finally here! A durable Powerbank that you can rely on for when you really need it!
We have previously highlighted the importance of a number of Powerbank features that are rarely promoted in most Powerbank listings:

However, the element that we did not expand on was product durability as this touches on ALL of the features in the article.

Durability is defined as “the ability to withstand wear, pressure, or damage”. In essence, this has to be a robust mechanical and electrical design that can withstand the rigours of mobility so the product performs when it’s really needed.

This means that the product case has to be stronger and the battery cells need to be more robust which invariably means they will be larger than an average product. This is reflected in a THICKER Powerbank. This is the case in the TP10K ECO which utilises a durable housing design tested for 1m drop onto concrete alongside additional testing for pressure and vibration, USB ports that are able to support up to 5000 insertions and robust 10,000mAHr cells that have been specified for increased durability. In addition to the mechanical robustness, the cells are electrically robust as they are able to support more charge /discharge cycles than the typical competitor. Typical Power banks are specified for around 100 charge/discharge cycles. This should be detailed in the product specifications, but if this is not listed and if the end product is marketed based on its ‘Thin and Lightweight’ features then its durability should be questioned! The TP10K ECO is specified for 300 charge/discharge cycles, so 3 times the average to ensure performance is maintained for far longer.

We have also previously explained the significance of fast charging and how this can degrade cell lifetime in the previous article. The TP10K ECO can be safely fast charged through the USB-C port using USB-PD or QC3.0 fast charge protocols. The PSU source communicates with the TP10K ECO to safely deliver optimized fast charging throughout the charge cycle to minimize unnecessary stress on the battery which could degrade the cell performance and lifetime. The TurboPower 18W charger is the ideal charger in this regard, supporting 18Woutput with the QC3.0 protocol. The TP10K ECO can then use the same fast charge protocols over the USB-C and USB-A ports to communicate with and quick charge the attached mobile phone, assuming these industry standard protocols are supported.

In summary, if you’re looking for a safe, reliable and durable Powerbank that you can depend on when you really need it, the TP10K ECO is the product for you;
